Using the game table

  1. Choose your cards. Select cards to stage a legal play. You can create multiples, straights and connected combinations; the current discard is the starting point.
  2. Play or draw. Submit a staged combination onto the discard, or draw from the deck when you need cards. The game offers on-table actions as well as normal action controls.
  3. Declare wild cards. Your current stage determines your wild rank. The game may let you choose the suit or rank required for a legal play.
  4. Call Last Card. If you finish a play with exactly one card remaining, declare Last Card before completing the discard. On-table gestures are available in buttonless mode.
  5. Choose your layout. You can hide the regular action controls for a cleaner table and adjust your hand sorting where the game offers that setting.

The controls can differ slightly between desktop, touch screens and app builds. The game table is the authority for available actions.

For the exact legality of a play, penalties, Jack effects and stage completion, see the Official Rules.

Together online

Invite your friends

Choose Play with Friends from the opening game menu, create a private room, and share its invitation link or room code. Friends can follow the invite to join your table. If you get disconnected, return promptly and use the game's reconnect option when it is offered.

Private games are separate from Ranked play, so they're ideal for learning together and testing combinations. Bot and Private matches start at Stage 8 with eight cards and use the eight-sided stage die throughout, including at Stage 6. This includes private tables with bots and Play Again.

Competitive play

Ranked games and your account

Ranked matches are against other people. Sign in with Apple or Google and choose your Greatest Game username. Your Account & Stats page shows Ranked results, history and linked sign-in methods. Games with bots and friends in private rooms are not Ranked.

Ranked D6 format: When this format is enabled, new Ranked matches begin at Stage 6 with six cards and a six-sided die. Players advance through Stage 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and Ace (face 1). Existing Ranked matches keep their original D8 rules.

There is a special online-only credit award for an Ace-stage Crowned Royal Pardon - Double Victory!. It counts as two Ranked Win Credits from one completed match when its conditions are met. It does not create a second match. Read the exact rule and exceptions.

These online account records and credits are not part of the physical card-game rulebook.
